Michael Powell is Vice President, Government Relations for the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA). Michael provides strategic advice to CEA’s pan-Canadian network of electricity utilities and businesses on how to advance the sector’s interests with government stakeholders. This includes advocacy efforts in Canada and the United States on a range of issues including security and the environment.

Before joining CEA, Michael provided strategic, public affairs and communications advice for Canadian and international clients with a leading boutique consultancy. He has led communications and advocacy campaigns in all provinces and across the North.

Michael is active in his community on urban design and transportation issues and is a long-time host on Ottawa’s CKCU-FM, a campus community radio station.
