Jim Cross leads the organization responsible for the strategic planning, asset development, process enablement, and change management for National Grid’s Wholesale Networks business unit which consists one of the largest electric transmission networks in the Northeast, 4,000 MW of generation on Long Island, and the FERC-regulated Liquified Natural Gas storage in Rhode Island.

Jim, an energy industry leader for over 25 years, has held diverse positions with increasing levels of responsibility at National Grid and its legacy companies in the areas of research and development, marketing, finance, risk management, business development, M&A, energy supply, advanced data and analytics, and customer sales and solutions.  His expertise includes Northeast energy markets, asset optimization, risk management, and distributed generation.  Jim built National Grid’s advanced data and analytics capability and has led the successful delivery of enterprise-wide and targeted IS solutions.

Jim has served on the Edison Electric Institute’s Economic Policy Advisory Group and on the National Energy Marketers Association’s Executive Committee.  Jim currently serves as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee for the Kingsborough Community College Foundation board.

He earned a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from The Cooper Union and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University.
