Josh Gerber is an expert in battery storage and distributed energy resources and founded 33 North Energy (consulting) and Connect California (single premise microgrid systems) after a career at San Diego Gas & Electric. At SDG&E most recently he managed the Advanced Technologies Team where he led the development and deployment of their 120 & 30 megawatt-hour (MWh) lithium-ion energy storage systems — setting a new standard for the speed and size of battery projects. His knowledge of cutting-edge energy policy, business and technology issues helped the project to receive regulatory approval and deploy in record time – less than eight months – and in December 2017 the storage facility was named by Utility Dive as Energy Storage Project of the Year.
