Marc Boucher

Marc Boucher joined Hydro-Québec in 2016 as President of Hydro-Québec TransÉnergie and was appointed President of Hydro-Québec TransÉnergie et Équipement in June 2020. This division operates and develops Hydro-Québec’s power transmission system, which ranks among the most extensive in North America, markets system capacity and manages power flows across Québec. In addition, it oversees the design and execution of construction and refurbishment projects related to the company’s generating and transmission facilities.

Marc Boucher began his career in the transportation and aeronautics industries, where he worked for over 25 years. After serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force as the officer responsible for the maintenance of CF-18s, he moved on to Bombardier, where he held a number of strategic management positions from 1996 to 2016. In particular, he was instrumental in establishing a presence in Mexico as Vice President of Operations and carried out an ambitious two-year mandate in Germany aimed at improving project management and quality assurance for the company’s transportation division. Over the course of his career, Mr. Boucher developed solid expertise in operations and organizational performance, as well as the execution of complex, large-scale projects.

Mr. Boucher holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Université Laval and a graduate certificate in aerospace engineering from the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering.  He also completed the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors and earned ICD.D certification. He currently sits on the board of the New York–based Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC).

Mr. Boucher is also actively involved in the community. In particular, he chairs the Federation of Québec Alzheimer Societies’ major fund-raising campaign and serves on the board of the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde.
